Embark on an awe-inspiring journey along the Shtegu i Ngjyrave (The Color Trail), linking Novoseja or Shishtaveci to Grykë Caje village in Albania. This trail forms part of the extensive High Scardus Trail, stretching across Kosovo, Albania, and Macedonia, spanning an impressive 495km. Aptly named for the vibrant blossoms that grace its path, particularly during the spring season when the endangered Albanian Lily flourishes.
Traversing this trail rewards you with breathtaking vistas of the Sharri Mountains, Gjallica, Koritnik, and Korabi. Meandering through the expansive Alpine Pastures of South-Eastern Europe, it promises an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts.
The expedition commences at 'Stani i Hoxha' at 1350m or from the heart of Novoseja village. Following a well-maintained path, you'll encounter Novoseje Lake and ascend Kallabak Mountain, reaching an impressive height of 2174m. The highlight of the journey lies in the captivating 9km stretch from 'Maja e Kallabakut' to Grykë-Caje village, boasting awe-inspiring Alpine Pasture panoramas.
Accessible via paved roads, the trail typically takes 7-8 hours to complete and offers a moderate level of challenge. However, exercise caution during winter months when icy conditions prevail.
