National Library of Kosovo
Description
The National Library of Kosovo, located in Pristina, is an important cultural institution established in 1944. Its main mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to Kosovo's cultural heritage and promote reading and education.
The library houses a large collection of books, manuscripts, journals, and other materials in various languages. It is housed in a modernist building designed by the Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjaković, characterized by massive concrete blocks and a spacious central atrium.
Despite facing challenges such as damage and looting during the Kosovo War, the National Library of Kosovo remains a vital resource for scholars, researchers, and readers in Kosovo and beyond.
